Saturday at the Shoping Mall

Saturday at the Shoping Mall Cover Album

Album Notes

Underground Echoes of Varna Mall is an immersive collection of binaural and stereo field recordings captured inside and beneath a large shopping center in Varna, Bulgaria. The album explores the acoustic contrast between two interconnected urban environments: the raw, concrete reverberations of an underground parking garage and the layered, human-centered atmosphere of the mall’s interior spaces.

The underground recordings reveal a dense industrial soundscape shaped by heavy traffic, engine resonance, ventilation systems, footsteps, and long reflections traveling through concrete corridors. In contrast, the interior recordings document the softer yet complex sonic texture of the shopping center itself—distant conversations, escalators, spatial movement, and architectural ambience unfolding within large open halls.

Recorded using binaural techniques and high-quality stereo microphones, the album delivers a realistic three-dimensional listening experience, best enjoyed with headphones. Underground Echoes of Varna Mall is intended for immersive listening, sound design reference, urban field recording archives, ASMR-style environments, and cinematic or experimental audio inspiration.

This release continues the Nomadic Soundscapes exploration of everyday spaces through sound, transforming functional urban locations into detailed auditory environments that invite focused listening and spatial awareness.
