Air travel has become faster than ever to get to a certain place. For me as a traveler, it was even more exciting to get on a plane, since it was my first flight.
Unlike most passengers who were on the plane and had fun during the flight or were sleeping, I decided to spend it exploring the sound atmosphere. Recording binaural sound during a flight is an exciting moment to hear sounds that my ears can barely hear.
At that moment, while I was sitting motionless in my seat and watching the flight through the small window from 12 km altitude, I asked myself “What sound is heard outside my hearing range”. At that moment, I took out my Zoom H1n handheld recorder from my bag and turned on my Roland CS10-em binaural headphones and listened to the soundscape. In addition to the internal atmosphere of the quiet conversation of people, I could also hear the hissing sound of the air flow through which the plane passes at over 500 km per hour.
